Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American producer, actress and director. Her most famous role is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended after the seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her recurring role as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) as well as Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are also among her many. Sedgwick was a New York City native, the daughter Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), an educator and family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI who was a venture capitalist. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick identifies herself as Jewish and has stated that she is a participant in Passover seders.
