Catherine Anne

  Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born on March 4th, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress comedian, writer, and actress. O'Hara has received a variety of awards including the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In addition, she was awarded two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. She was also presented with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara was first noticed as an actor in the year 1974, as a member of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Along with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary casting in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara joined Candy on the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984). The show received the attention of critics both for her writing abilities and acting, and was awarded an Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. O'Hara, Steve Carell and Dwayne Colbert were added to the Second City artistic board in 2022.
